Yoga gently began knocking on my door several years ago and has naturally developed into my way of life. After taking an early morning outdoor class and feeling the extreme relaxation, I knew I needed to look into this practice called yoga.
I began my journey learning through books and developing my personal home practice. Then I began taking group classes at the Yoga Garden in Apex, North Carolina. Noticing the overall transformation in my daily life and desiring to deepen my understanding of the yoga philosophy, I enrolled in the teacher-training program with Dharma Richards and earned my RYT200 certification.
With a background in social work, my heart is service-focused. I enjoy volunteering in the community with Meals on Wheels, serving at church and at my children's school, and participating in international missions. I am passionate about my love for God, family, community, health and nature. As a stay-at-home mother of two and a devoted wife, yoga helps bring me to a place of peace and calm - even in the midst of craziness. I love sharing my passion for yoga practice with others and watching that journey unfold within their lives. My classes are Hatha Raja style with an eclectic twist and focus on breathwork, concentration and postures. I strive to provide a safe, nurturing environment while providing opportunity for growth. I encourage students to feel the true inner peace that comes through dedicated practice and connection with our Creator.
I teach classes at the Community + Fitness Center (Hope Community Church) in Apex and at Blackbird Yoga in Fuquay. I am also available for private or semi-private sessions. Hope to see you soon!
